Vintage Mathapatti / Neckpiece

An actual silver Mathapatti or head ornament that can also be worn as a neckpiece, studded with a red Kundan on the diamond-shaped centrepiece. Also known as Sheeshpatti, to wear as a headgear, with jhumkas, the ends of the chains have to be fastened along with the back screw of the earrings. Please note, this piece has not been altered in any way since acquisition. Traditionally, such mathapattis would be worn by married women, along with a Borla strung to a black thread or silver chain.
